Suzanna Grace and I flew down to MS for she and Elsie Lee's Sip and See and Baby Dedication. We flew in to Memphis to visit with Aunt MA for a day before loading up and heading to Madison.
Mommy and SG were old pros when it came to flying.
Aunt Mary Agnes and Jessica took us to lunch and SG got to try out her bonnet. She loved it.
Kick, Suzanna Grace, Kick, Kick, Kick
SG things Aunt MA is funny!
On our car ride to MS, SG enjoyed reading some books.
As soon as we arrived in Madison we went over to see JJ. She enjoyed showing SG off around the neighborhood. We visited the Mansfields first and then played with some of Daddy's old toys. That JJ is good...she kept everything!
After we finished playing at JJs it was time to go over to see DaDaB and SuSu! They each had sme surgery (Susu-knee and DadaB shoulder) and were a little sore but you made them feel better!
What fun it is to wake up and read with your SuSu!
We visited with Elsie Lee at her house too.
Our Daddy flew in to Memphis and caught a ride with Uncle Timmy. You were glad to have him back as a snuggle partner!
On Saturday we had y'all Sip and See. SuSu, JJ, and Mommy invited all of their friends over to see you and Elsie Lee. You each wore a gown that SuSu had smocked for you. We displayed your dedication gowns for everyone to see.
Guests signed your "Forever Young" book with well wishes and advice.
Aunt Claire and Becca (Sullivan) made HUNDREDS of beautiful sugar cookies.Dada B's sister and two brothers came from Pontotoc to see the their great nieces. Left to Right: Barbra Owens, David and Linda Ray, Jeffery Ray, DadaB and Susu.
Aunt MA found out on our beach trip back in June that she was pregnant and finally told everyone about Baby Ellis while everyone was home for the Sip and See.
Daddy came for the last few minutes of the Sip and See to see his girls all dressed up and take SG back over to JJ and J-Pops house to visit.
J-Pop and JJ let you play with "aunt" Little.
Daddy and Uncle Ryan let you swing for awhile too.
GanGan enjoyed loving on you for the weekend.
I hope that we both grow up to be just like our GanGan!
Mrs. Laurie Dahlem was proud to show you off.
We invited friends over on Sunday to celebrate SG and EL's baby dedication. Everyone came over and enjoyed lunch together before Mallory (Sullivan) Rosamond led the dedication in SuSu and DadaB's front yard.
Sandra Ashford made Suzanna Grace's gown out of vintage Duff linens, JJ's wedding dress, and pieces of lace from SuSu, Aunt Claire, MA, and my wedding dress (we all wore the same one.) It was absolutely beautiful and included SG's initials and birthdate sewn in to the slip. As our family grows, we will add more names to the slip too. SG also wore an "add a pearl" necklace which was a gift from her JJ and a Renaldo bracelet that matches one that both of her grandmothers, Aunt MA, and I have.
Bless us, it was SO hot outside and those sweet babies, in their long multi-layered gowns, were burning up. Luckily, JJ stripped SG down to her fancy Ashford Collection bloomers and let her cool off in the swing.
