I really wish that I had typed this out before now (lesson learned) since I know that I will not be able to remember everything. I am currently trying to decide if I should do a Blog makeover from Three Eleven Designs and am challenging myself to blog more than once per week in order to make the advancement in blogging worth it.

You KNOCKED me up!
Just a little bit of a pre-story to all of this...At the end of the school year I, along with 2 of my teaching partners, was told that because of budget cuts and enrollment declining there was a chance that I might not have a position at my West Side school. Taking this as a sign from the Lord that I was needed at a new school I promptly began my search and ended up with several interviews and an AMAZING job offer within a weeks time. Since I had not officially been let go by the Board I still had to have my principal "release" me to the new school. When I went in to tell her about my new opportunity she refused to release me and a long, drawn out back and forth began. I knew that Kyle and I were hoping to be pregnant over the summer and after she told me that she "could not" let me go, I decided that I would be able to make the best decision about staying or following through with trying to leave if I knew whether or not I was pregnant. I have always prayed that the Good Lord would open door wide or slam them closed so show us the ways in which to go and we have been blessed so far in him doing just that. I knew that if I was in fact pregnant then it was my sign to leave my West side school. (As you now know, I was pregnant and long story short it was nothing less than a miracle and an act of legal action being threatened that my old Principal ended up "releasing" me to change schools.)
SO.....
On the morning of Wednesday, July 17 Kyle left early for a business trip and I woke up knowing that I was going to take a test. I have not told him about my plan and really didn't think that it would say "pregnant" anyways. I had lots of plans for the day, including helping to lead a PD for the National Board candidates at the Union, so I took the test and went on with getting dressed. For whatever reason in my unusually calm mind I knew that if it was positive that I would need to already be dressed and ready for the day since I would probably spend the time between finding out and needing to lead the PD too overwhelmed to do anything. So, I ironed my clothes, teased and curled the old football helmet head of hair, and kind of forgot about the test. The alarm on my phone reminded me to go in to check and with my camera in hand I ventured into the bathroom. As soon as I rounded the turn into the bathroom I could see a P and then the whole word: "PREGNANT"!! For the first time in my life I stood there in complete shock and unable to say a word. I believe on the video I repeat over and over, "Stop it! STOOOPPPP IIITTT!!!" (The videos are wayyy to embarrassing to share...sorry!) So after seeing a positive test, naturally, I went out and bought two more. I took one immediately and another later in the day...just to make sure.

I spent time cherishing the time what only God, Baby, and I knew about this
miracle. What a special time to reflect, pray, count my blessings, and
dream about all that this meant for our family.
