6 Month Photo Shoot

We were able to team up with our favorite Chicago photographer Jovana a few weeks back to capture some fun city pictures of our family.  Though it was the last nice weekend in Chicago there was a slight fog so we didn't get all of the city pictures that I had hoped for BUT our girlie is just as precious as she can be!

Here are some of my favorites!

Timmy especially loves Kyle's thumb placement here.  He is such a model.

Bonnet, bloomers, and dress by my oh so talented cousin Sandra Ashford.  She used herloom pieces of lace and fabric from the Duff, Ray, and Moore/Magee side of the family.  Most of the lace and buttons are actually from Kyle's mother's wedding dress!  Suzanna Grace also has on her "add a pearl"necklace from her JJ and a bracelet that she, her grandmothers, Aunt MA, and I each have.

Sweet little hands and those LONG fingers!

Such a happy girlie!

Though the size of her bows may make it difficult to see all of her hair at times, this shows that she is quite the little toe head! (For my midwest friends who may not know what that means...Suzanna Grace is a blonde, blonde baby!)

She was in the middle of blowing bubbles!

Daddy's girlie!

This one cracks me up!  At the end of the photo shoot I had ONE picture in mind that I wanted to capture at the zoo.  I was in charge of moving tourist out if the shot while Kyle was the jester and in charge of getting SG to smile.  Our strong willed girlie was over having her picture taken and simply laid down.  She didn't cry or fuss, rather she put her head down and went to sleep.

Now the question becomes which one do I use for Christmas cards?!?  Any suggestions?

7 Month Update

Age: 7 Months
Hi there lil' pumpkin' girl!

Weekly Updates:

Weight: Hummm...we do not have a scale so I am guessing that you are a pound or so more than you were last month?  Maybe around 16 lbs?
Height: ?
Diaper Size: Size 2...we just got a huge shipment so you'll be in this size for at least another 250+ diaper changes...then we will probably move up.
Clothes Size: You wear anything from 3M-9M.  Your onsies are still the same ones that you wore when you were a NB but I also stick you in some bubbles that are 9M.  They are a little long but they keep you warm!
Shoe Size: Infant size 2...but I think they are too big.  Much to your SuSu's dismay, you wear your fake Uggs everyday.  It's just too cold in Chicago and you pull your socks right off.  In a few weeks you'll be able to wear the pink Uggs that your JJ bought you too!
Schedule:
Thank goodness you are still sleeping through the night...most nights.  You wake up anywhere between 6:30 and 7 and go to bed by 8 (unless we are out and about on the weekends...)  Susanna says that you take two naps during the weekdays and on the weekend you usually take 2-3 naps which vary in length depending on where we are/what we are doing.  Thank heavens you are so easy going!
You nurse as soon as you wake up, take two bottles, about 2 TBS of food and some cereal with Susanna, nurse as soon as I pick you up, eat another 2+TBS of food and some cereal, maybe snack on a banana or apple in your pacci pouch thingie, and nurse to sleep.  (Sometimes you nurse with dinner too depending on what time I picked you up.)

Food: You continue to LOVE sweet potatoes, apple sauce, pears, beats, carrots, and bananas.  You HATED the avocado that I tried to give you last week and spit it out over and over.  I think that the texture/consistency was a little weird.   Same thing goes with the last batch of lima beans...may just need to make it more smooth.  You have a sippy cup of water around at most dinners and every once in a while you will actually get some water out of it when you chew/suck on the top.  You don't really know that you might take a sip to quench your thirst...it is just something new that you are interested in sticking in your mouth.

I have been making all of your food but have bought a few things for us to use on the go.  You used the fruit squeeze pouches (with assistance from me) for the first time this week and really liked being able to squeeze the apple sauce into your mouth.  (You really just sucked it all out.) Daddy, aka Robin, was in charge of getting your fed this week while I went to a meeting so I told him that you could have a pouch.  I had to leave the room when he texted me that he gave you the whole pouch and you immediately squeezed it and shot it all over yourself.  I should have been more explicit in the details...you're only 7M and need some help.

Fun Facts and Milestones:

SuSu came to visit this month so that we could have a fun night out to celebrate the Val-Tad wedding!  Once again, Daddy and I did not take a single picture together...here's to documenting our lives outside of you.
SuSu enjoyed being a part of your everyday life and seeing what we do each day.  Y'all enjoyed swinging and strolling around our neighborhood.

-Daddy and the NU Soccer team gathered for their Homecoming and all of the Daddy's took their baby girls out onto the field to be recognized. Oh how the times have changed...

You sat up in the cart at Target for the first time and thought that it was so much fun.  Of course, you immediately leaned over and began sucking on the rail so our excitement was somewhat short lived.

You had your first trip to the Louis Vuitton store on Michigan Avenue.  Mommy was feeling a little guilty for being a working mom so we got a little retail therapy.

We traveled to Lexington, KY to see JJ (aka BaBa) and J-Pop and to watch the Bulldogs play.  Mommy had been getting lots of threats saying that my crown would be stripped from me if you wore maroon one more time...so you also wore your Hotty Toddy bloomers and yelled, "Go Rebs!"  You also got to meet the Johnson's while we were there.  You loved laughing a Molly!

Suzanna Grace, your Daddy loves a selfie.

I cannot help but giggle at the folks in the background of these pictures. There was quite a hodge-podge of people in our section and most only had single tickets.  We made lots of new friends since most people were sitting without their families.

 JJ loves her baby girl!

Daddy was in charge of feeding you supper on the way home and needless to say, you led the feeding.  At one point I heard a commotion and Daddy yelling, "I've lost control.  She has commandeered the spoon!"  When we arrived at the hotel Daddy was covered in sweet potato.

-Uncle Bryson came to visit and we tailgated for the NU Homecoming Game.

You say, "Ba-Ba-Ba!" You have become even more talkative this month!

You are so ticklish!  You love to laugh and really get going whenever someone tickles you or scares you.  You LOVE when Daddy plays peek-a-boo with you and jumps out from behind the corners/other objects.  It scares you and you sometimes even jump but then you giggle.

-We had the day off so we went down to spend the afternoon with Daddy.  We went to your first downtown lunch and even visited Daddy's office.

-We went to Starkville again to watch the Bulldogs beat Auburn.  You got to meet Dale for the first time and hang out with Uncle Ryan and Spencer.  I am quite sure that this isn't the first time that these boys have stalked a girl at the Fraternity House.
Spencer will soon understand Kyle's Dad dance that he does to get SG to laugh but on this occasion he simply looked at him and embarrassingly whispered, "Dude...are you serious right now?"
Uncle Ryan does bows...thank goodness.

SG's not sure what to do with the cow bell...

J-Pop is the best rapper around and that JJ/Ba-Ba can find a rocking chair just about anywhere.  Little Dog could not have been happier to see you go...
We took a trip to the field on Sunday and against my better judgement you took lots of picture.  I am really sorry if you are black-balled from RUSH at Ole Miss one day.  Just kidding...you won't be.

Love our family of three!

-You continue to love FaceTime with all of the people you love back South.  You think Aunt MA is too funny when y'all get to talk.

We, God willing, have lots of changes coming our way little girl and we are so excited to see where the good Lord leads us as a family.  Every day is better and better than the one before and just when we think that we could not love you more, you smile and laugh and our hearts grow again.  You make all those around you happy and remind us all of what is most important in life.  You have such a gentle and sweet soul. We love you Suzanna Grace!
