Fun Facts and Milestones:
We made it back from Memphis and arrived home to a DaDa who really missed his girls! We went to the Botanical Gardens for a hike and you ended up walking nearly the whole way! You are so strong and determined... You really possess lots of great character traits.

You love to climb "Mommy Mountain" and think it's so funny when you do!
You are an active, active girl. We move your playroom into the bathroom so that Mommy can take a shower. Half of those toys usually end up in the trash, potty, or shower. You also don't like riding in your stroller. Every time that I attempt a stroller ride you seem happy so we go a little further...then we get just far enough away from home you scream and kick and decide that you are over the constraints of the stroller. DIVA! You got to ride without the straps so that we could just get home...good heavens.
Since Baby Wilkes has been born we FaceTime with he and Aunt Mag nearly everyday. You love to take the phone and get up close and personal. You also like to hide the phone...in this picture you decided that Wilkes made a great baby Jesus.
- You tried your first popsicle this month and LOVED it.
MOM! No more pictures!!
You have some of the sweetest friends in the world. In Athens, you are one of very few girl babies so you have lots of boyfriends!
This was our first St. Paddy's day not in Chicago in 7 years, so it was only appropriate that we have the other Chicagoans, the Templins, (plus the Talley's) over the celebrate and to ring in "car bomb season."
You LOVE being outside. As soon as you wake up and come into the den you start pointing to the sliding doors to go out. You could play and walk around outside all day long. SuSu gave you my old bonnet and I must say that you look especially cute.
Daddy caught me snagging this tricycle out of the trash and could not believe that I was 'dumpster diving" for toys. HA. I cleaned it off really well and spray painted it pink and gold. You got a"pimped out ride" little girl! I thought that this might help us to have longer walks. It did until you heard a dog and decided that you HAD to get off right then and there to go investigate.
Girl, you are a mess. You go and go and go...if I turn my back for one second when I turn back around you are usually standing on something, crawling into something, or throwing/distroying something. I have to admit it's pretty hilarious. The other day I felt a sprinkle of liquid and turned around to find you standing on top of your children's table and shaking a coke that someone had forgotten to throw away. You are a daredevil for sure!
You are also the sweetest girl in the world. Though your Daddy snuggles are few and far between, you did start walking up to Daddy and snuggling him. This melts his heart. Most of the time Daddy goes in to hug us and you push him away. This is somewhat of a game for y'all. Daddy says, "snuggle, snuggle" and gives us a bear hug...you lay your head down for half a second and then push him away. He gives me a kiss and you do the same thing. It's really pretty funny.
The ladies in the Kroger bakery love you and chase us down whenever we go shopping to say Hi. They always give you a cookie too. What 1 year old doesn't need a cookie at 8 AM?
Auntie MA and baby Wilkes came to visit and help us get ready for your birthday party. They went with us to music class and then took us out to lunch afterwards. We laughed at how lunch has certainly changed...MA and Wilkes left after we ordered so that he could nurse... you refused to sit in the chair so I had a barricade around our table with chairs that I turned on their sides, and then once MA returned I spent the rest of the lunch holding Wilkes and helping you walk in and out of the door to the restaurant. I don't think that MA and I said one word to each other. We should have ordered a drink...
Our house is slowly being overrun with toys. Who doesn't need a tent in their den?
On the Friday before your birthday, Daddy B, SuSu, JJ, Timmy, Uncle Rob, Aunt Angie, and Elsie Lee arrived in Athens. Thank goodness for Daddy B's handyman work especially since your kitchen came in 1 million pieces. Your Daddy would like for me to put that he build the kitchen but let's keep things real...
SuSu brought you this cute children's table and you look so big eating your snacks at it. Daddy B let you check out your kitchen and you immediately went for the packaging...I should have known to just get you a box.
You are the QUEEN and know it! You also started walking around everywhere a few days before your birthday. It was as if you knew that turning one meant that you should walk.
Last night as a ONE YEAR OLD....
Sidney helped you find lots of eggs. After a little practice and coaching you got the hang of it and enjoyed walking around to pick up all the eggs. You also tolerated the bunny ears.
I mean...bunny ears and a bow...
We are in a music class and you have a ball playing with the instruments. Your favorite thing to do is to leave the music group and play in my purse. You then return with random things from my purse... You are so silly.
You are so much fun! You started really walking the week of your birthday and have not slowed down since. You go and go and go...sometimes you even RUN! You have the sweetest spirit and are so kind. You started doing a huffing and puffing noise when you get mad and it's hard not to laugh. JJ says that you're getting ready to blow. You are so smart and love to investigate new things. You can follow directions (sometimes) and understand a lot of what we say to you. Your little pointer finger is always pointing towards something and you talk and talk as you direct us towards various objects for you to check out. You will eat just about anything that we give you. Some days you eat a lot and other days you just pick and then throw your food on the ground. When you do chunk it on the floor we say, "no,no" to which you say "ugh-oh" and shake your head "no." Then you laugh at us.
I started weening you this month and we are down to nursing in the morning and at night only. You were fine with this and adjusted pretty quickly. We still rock and sing/hum to sleep for naps which suites you fine.
I just love you so much sweet girl. Very day is better than the last and I am so glad to be at home with you helping and watching you learn.
Thank you Lord for sweet Suzanna Grace, the happiest girl in the world.
