Size? Baby is:
When we were at the sonogram yesterday the girl told me that Baby Mo was about 9 oz. I am going to post more sono pictures in the gender reveal post but y'all I just could not get over how big Baby MO is. S/he is a real BABY...unlike the sourpatch kid we saw last time. The look on Kyle's face when the resident fumbled around trying to take a look (more on that story later...) was just priceless. He has not seen Baby MO since the very 1st sonogram so this was quite different. Head to toe and all organs in between, Baby MO is just perfect!
Maternity Clothes? I bought a white long sleeve maternity shirt from Target and a belly band this week. Most of my shirts are pretty flowy though so I am not having a problem continuing to where them. I did find this fabulous website called ASOS on another friend's blog and cannot wait to order a few pieces! I LOVE their faux leather maternity pants and lace dresses. Hooray for cute maternity clothes!
Weight Gain? 6 lbs at the last appointment. Kyle misunderstood my party planning text though and I got a good laugh:
Stretch Marks? Nope, thank goodness. I went to get some of that Burt's Bees wax stuff for Momma's but thought that it smelled bad. Any other suggestions?
Bless this man. I love him so.

Gender? I have NO IDEA...and Kyle knows. We have our gender reveal party tonight!! More to come about the DR visit and the party in a later post!
Sleep? As if this has ever been an issue for me. Our friend Geoff once fell asleep at Ashlee's, his future wife, friend's birthday party after a long day on the boat. Needless to say she was not happy with him and his response was, "What?! GA always falls asleep at the bar/resturant/house party/wherever we go." Needless to say, she was not buying it and told him that falling asleep in public was my thing...not his. HAHA. I will say though that I have resorted to building what Kyle refers to as a fort around myself with pillows. The pillow by my side was a habit from HS and college that I had to break when I started sharing a bed with my husband, but it has reappeared. I sleep with it on my right side and have a hard time sleeping without it there. One of those huge snake looking pillows is in our future for sure.
Movement? Our sweet friend Marisha "Ishi" Sirois, who's about 4 weeks ahead of me, was with us at the Napper wedding last weekend and described what baby movements feel like. She said that initially they were like little "poofs" in your tummy. Ever since then I have been focusing really hard, in the AM and PM when I am laying down especially, so that I can feel these poofs. I have to say, I have been feeling something. Last night after we came back from dinner with our parents I laid in bed with my hand on my stomach and am pretty positive that I felt some jabs. I thought about calling Kyle in to see if he could feel them but I waited to long and they stopped. Based on our sonogram yesterday morning Baby Mo is a very active little soccer player or drama queen as he/she was literally doing barrel rolls while they were trying to check him/her out. Right now I can feel little jabs and until I feel something more prominent, I am betting that this is what movement feels like and it's glorious.
| The Baby Movement expert is the gorgeous one eating fruit on a stick. My equally as beautiful friend, Meg was also sharing her somewhat scary baby knowledge. |
Food Cravings? Not really. This week has flown by so fast that I have hardly had time to stop and think about craving anything.
Anything making you queasy or sick? No, thank goodness.
Labor signs? No! Still a LLLOOONNNGGG way to go. Well...about 22 weeks anyways.
Belly button in or out? Still in but looking different by the day. Being in a bikini for 5 days gave me a lot of time to analyze the changes...
Wedding rings, on or off? On and fitting the same. My right hand ring even seems a bit more loose.
What I Miss? Kyle has had tuna a few times in the past few weeks and every time I wish that I could sneak a bite. I am sure that one bite would be fine but I'm staying clear. I also really miss having a coke everyday. It's probably better that I am NOT having a coke but I loved that midday sugar rush that just made me a little more happy for an hour or so. Now I try to only drink a coke on the weekends. Ah the little things.
Symptoms? Nothing new really.
Happy or Moody? SUPER happy! I dream about this sweet child every single night and wake up in the morning thinking of the rest of our lives with this (and hopefully many more) little Moores!
Best Moment of the Week? Our sonogram yesterday!! (Here is a sneak peek but there is more to come on this...)
Honorable Mention:
- Putting up the crib! Thank goodness I married an engineer.
- Telling my Principals about Baby Mo. Based on what would have been the reaction at my old school, I have been really nervous about telling. I tried for about 2 weeks to tell Mr. Z but he has been super busy and there just wasn't ever a right moment. Finally on Wednesday one of the aids called me out ("Oh Mrs. Moore...you have a bun in the oven...I can see it today!) and I knew that I just had to tell him. I went in with my mind full of "I'll have everything ready for a SUB...I am sorry to do this during my first year..." and other things of that nature. As soon as the words exited my mouth Mr. Z had a grin from ear to ear and he went on and on about how excited he was. "Babies are a great thing!" he said. At that very moment I nearly cried as I thought about how lucky I am to be at Coonley. Our AP even emailed me yesterday to ask if it was a boy or girl. I told him our weekend gender reveal plan and his response was, "How cool. Have an awesome weekend with your family." I know that this seems like such a normal response but in comparison to the administration at my old school these comments are far from normal. Thank you Lord for Coonley.

- This sweet email from a former student. I have not told anyone in my new class but I have told Diontae, my precious little guy with the glasses, and a few others. Miss Davia sends me weekly emails and this gem came yesterday. I talked with Dionate on Thursday and he had changed his boy name from Jamal to Alex...but, he said, Alex is a good name for a boy or girl. Looking forward to being able to share Baby Mo's gender with them too.

- MA just sent me this picture of my bed back home. These are all of the baby items that Momma's "young teacher friends" have given her for Baby MO when s/he comes to Madison. She and Mrs. Jeane have already plotted their volunteer hours at Little Feet Consignment for the spring so that they can stock up on baby essentials too. (If any of those "young teachers" read this, thank you for being so sweet to my Momma. She thinks of you as daughters and gushes over you and your children--for some your grandchildren-- and loves her Jag family!)
Looking forward to..TONIGHT and finding out if this sweet baby is a boy or girl. I don't know how Kyle is handling himself right now.
Prayer Request: Amber Roper, a friend from HS, sent me an email this week about a dream she had about Baby MO. It ended with her reminding me that no matter what the sex, the most important thing is that the baby is healthy and happy. I could not agree more.
This week my heart has been heavy with the news of two sick babies in Jackson/Madison, MS. The Bowie and Clay Families are both fighting different yet equally as hard fights for their little ones. I only know the Bowie's through friends and her blog but Lauren and Wesley went to Ole Miss with me. You can read their families' blogs here: The Clay Family and The Bowies. As we thank God for Baby MO and how He is providing for the Moore family, we also ask that He hold these precious families in His arms and give them strength. Stop and say a prayer right now. :)
